Jay Shim is the Founder and Principal Partner of ISG since 2017. Jay has over 30 years of experience in patent licensing. Jay had been with Samsung Electronics Company since 1997 as the head of IP at their semiconductor division, and a corporate Senior VP and the head of IP Licensing and Analysis between 2010 to 2017. Jay is an attorney at law in Massachusetts and Washington D.C. and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Hiroshi Miyauchi is a Principal Partner and the President of of ISG Japan. Mr. Miyauchi has over 30 years of experience in patent licensing at Toshiba Corporation as the Head of IP at the Semiconductor Business between 2002 to 2007, the Head of Corporate IP between 2007 to 2013, and a senior advisor thereafter until 2023.
Jungmin Sohn is the President and Head of Technology at ISG. Mr. Sohn spent over 35 years in the semiconductor and display industries. Sohn had been the CEO at Charm Engineering, which manufactures LCD/LED display equipment, between 2015 to 2023. Sohn served and as an Senior VP at Samsung LCD/OLED division between 1992 to 2015 and as a VP of Engineering at Samsung Semiconductor division R&D between 1985 to 1992.
Jootae Moon is a Senior Advisor of Technology at ISG. Dr. Moon spent over 35 years in the semiconductor and display industries. Moon had been the CEO at SEMES of Korea between 2013 and 2015. Moon served as a Senior VP and the Head of R&D at Samsung LCD division between 2009 and 2012, and a Senior VP of process engineering at Samsung Semiconductor Division between 2003 and 2009. Moon received a Ph.D. in Material Science & Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
Yunho Choi is a Senior Advisor of Technology at ISG. Mr. Choi spent over 35 years in the semiconductor and display industries. Choi received Samsung Electronics coveted Doctorate of Honor in 1996. He was one of first DRAM circuit designers at Samsung for designs including 64K DRAM, 512M DRAM, and 16M SDRAM. Choi also pioneered OneNand development, which combines logic with non volatile memory, and, recently, headed development for compound semiconductor devices such as GaN on Si and GaN on SIC.
Franklin Kang is a senior legal advisor to ISG. Frank is currently a partner at One LLP and has over 20 years of experience as a patent litigator and has particular expertise in patent litigation before the U.S. Federal Courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). Notably, Frank was formerly the Chair of the Korea Practice of several prominent AmLaw 100 firms.
